Global Real Estate Advisory Boutique Expands into Asia and Europe, With Addition of Three Senior Professionals

Hodes Weill & Associates (“Hodes Weill”), a global real estate advisory boutique with a focus on the investment and funds management industry, today announced the addition of three senior industry professionals to its team: Alfredo Lobo (pictured), Dominic Field and Eric Lemer.

Effective December 1, 2011, Alfredo Lobo joined the firm as a Partner, based in Hong Kong. Mr. Lobo is responsible for managing the business activities of Hodes Weill in Asia and Australia, including coverage of institutional investors and investment and fund managers. Previously, Mr. Lobo was a Managing Director of LXL Capital Partners, a Hong Kong-based investment and advisory boutique engaged in Pan-Asian fund raising and M&A advisory assignments in various market segments, with a particular focus on real estate.

Effective January, 2012, Dominic Field and Eric Lemer will join the firm, and will be based in London. Mr. Field will join as a Partner and will be responsible for managing the business activities of Hodes Weill in the UK and Europe. Previously, Mr. Field was Director of Business Development and a board member of the fund management division of Grosvenor, a privately owned international real estate investment company. Mr. Lemer will have primary responsibility for covering investment and fund managers and executing capital raising assignments in the UK and Europe. Previously, Mr. Lemer was Director, European Capital Raising and Investor Relations, with GI Partners, a leading asset and property investment firm with approximately $6 billion of capital under management. Messrs. Field and Lemer each previously worked with the Co-Founders of Hodes Weill at Credit Suisse.

“We are pleased to welcome Alfredo to the firm and are looking forward to working again alongside our former colleagues, Dominic and Eric,” said David Hodes, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Hodes Weill. “Each brings enormous talent, experience and energy in working with global institutions to implement their real estate investment strategies and is regarded as a trusted advisor in the industry. With this global expansion, we are positioning the firm to facilitate the two-way flow of investment ideas and capital to deliver innovative solutions on a global basis.”

“While institutional allocations to real estate are accelerating, the task of raising capital from institutions remains challenging in today’s market,” commented Doug Weill, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Hodes Weill. “The institutions that are allocating capital are more widespread from a geographic perspective and they are increasingly seeking highly customized investment strategies and vehicles. We are committed to expanding our global coverage of the institutional market and look forward to further additions to the team over the coming months.”

“I am delighted to be joining Hodes Weill,” said Mr. Lobo. “I look forward to helping lead the firm’s expansion in the Asia Pacific region and working with clients to capitalize investment funds, joint ventures and specialist vehicles. Hodes Weill’s global reach enables us to deliver proprietary investment opportunities to institutional investors and to advise managers on scaling their businesses through capital raising, strategic transactions and M&A.”

"I am extremely excited and optimistic about broadening and building the Hodes Weill platform in Europe,” commented Mr. Field. “Whilst the market clearly faces challenges, there is strong demand from institutions for an experienced and specialist advisor with global insight and perspective. Having previously worked with many of the Partners and Principals at Hodes Weill, I am also very pleased to be rejoining my talented colleagues at this time.”

Mr. Lemer noted that “even though the fundraising environment has changed dramatically over the past three years, institutional investors continue to seek quality investment opportunities with ‘best in class’ managers. I look forward to taking a leadership role in building another global, world-class business with my former colleagues, including Dominic here in Europe.”
