ASSIGNMENT

 

Hodes Weill & Associates acted as exclusive strategic and financial advisor to Tristan Capital Partners (the “Company” or “Tristan”) in connection with its minority sale to Candriam Investors Group (“Candriam”), a London-based subsidiary of New York Life Investment Management (“New York Life”). Tristan is a leading European real estate investment manager based in London with a prestigious, loyal, and diversified global client base. As of the time of sale, the Company had assets under management of approximately €7 billion and managed two leading fund series: Curzon Capital Partners, a Core-Plus European fund series, and European Property Investors Special Opportunities, a Value-Add / Opportunistic pan-European fund series.

 

OUTCOME/RESULTS

Hodes Weill advised Tristan in connection with the sale of a minority stake in the Company to Candriam. The Company was marketed through a targeted sales process, and Candriam was ultimately selected from multiple bids. A key consideration was that the unique transaction structure provided Tristan with a replacement capital partner who has the option to increase their ownership position. The transaction created a new relationship between Tristan and New York Life, bolstering Tristan’s distribution relationships and providing New York Life with a strategic relationship to a real estate investment manager. The minority sale also provides Tristan with a well-capitalized financial partner to help the Company achieve its new product and growth objectives and consider strategic opportunities.
