ASSIGNMENT

 

Hodes Weill & Associates acted as strategic advisor to AREA Property Partners, L.P. ("AREA") in connection with its sale to Ares Management LLC ("Ares"). AREA was a top-tier real estate management firm investing across North America, Europe and India.  Ares is a global alternative asset manager with approximately $65 billion of committed capital under management.

 

OUTCOME/RESULTS

Hodes Weill advised AREA in connection with executing its sale to Ares, providing strategic advice relating to communications, market positioning and investor relations. The acquisition capitalized on the existing strengths of both AREA and Ares while also introducing new capabilities to each.  The transaction expanded the new real estate platform’s investment offerings, allowing the combined group to offer opportunities up and down the capital structure and across a broader geography. 

Following this transaction, the Ares Real Estate Group had a total of $8 billion in committed capital under management, including the publicly traded real estate investment trust Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation (NYSE:ACRE).
