Hodes Weill & Associates Adds Two Senior Professionals

Hodes Weill & Associates (“Hodes Weill”), a global real estate advisory boutique with a focus on the investment and funds management industry, today announced the addition of two senior professionals to its team: Matt Hershey and Matilde Attolico.

Matt Hershey is joining the firm as a Principal, based in New York, responsible for coverage of institutional investors in North America. Previously, Mr. Hershey was a Senior Vice President at Brookfield Asset Management, the global alternative asset manager.

Matilde Attolico will join the firm in June 2012 as a Principal, based in London, responsible for coverage of institutional investors in the Middle East, Scandinavia and the UK. Previously, Ms. Attolico was a Partner at Mercury Capital Advisors, a global private fund raising and investment advisory firm.

Background of Professionals

Matt Hershey was previously a Senior Vice President at Brookfield Asset Management where he was most recently responsible for coordinating sales and client service for all investors and consultants in the U.S. Northeast and Midwest for the firm’s real estate, infrastructure and private equity investment vehicles. Prior to joining Brookfield, Mr. Hershey was at Tishman Speyer from 2000 to 2006, where he most recently focused on sales and client service in Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US. During his tenure at Tishman Speyer, Mr. Hershey helped grow the team from three to twenty-four professionals over five years, expanding the sales channels from private clients to predominantly institutional investors. Mr. Hershey received his Masters in Business Administration from New York University Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

Matilde Attolico was previously a Partner of Mercury Capital Advisors and a Director in the Merrill Lynch Private Equity Funds Group (the predecessor entity of Mercury Capital Advisors). Ms. Attolico was responsible for advising investors in Scandinavia, the Middle East and the U.K. on their alternative investments in private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, mezzanine and distressed funds. Ms. Attolico’s investor relationships include the largest sovereign wealth funds, central banks, insurance companies, pension funds, fund of funds and institutional family offices in these regions. Ms. Attolico joined Merrill Lynch in 2000. Prior to joining the Merrill Lynch Private Equity Funds Group in 2006, she worked both in Institutional Equity Sales and the Hedge Fund Capital Introduction Group at Merrill Lynch. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Ms. Attolico worked for Goldman Sachs. She has a BA from Brown University and a Master of Arts from the Courtland Institute in London, England.
